“From the beginning, this experience was pleasurable. Past experiences with
home health services have not been, so we were a little nervous. But everyone, including
your receptionist, was easy to work with. I’m glad you’re in this area
if we need your services again. Please express our appreciation to everyone that
assisted with my dad”.
“All of your staff were so kind and helpful. I cannot think how you could
improve. The care I received was top of the line. Everyone was great. Thanks you
so very much and God bless you.
Yadkin
Valley Home Health uses the HomMed brand of telemonitoring equipment. These devices
are Class II, FDA approved for your safety. The monitor itself is about the size
of a clock radio. It is connected
to your telephone line with a split jack, which maintains your current telephone
service without interruption. The monitor comes equipped with a blood pressure cuff,
a digital scale and a pulse oximeter.
Other peripheral devices, such as a temperature probe and glucometers
can be added. The device alerts you at the same time each day and walks you through,
taking your own vital signs. These are sent via an 800 number to our office, where
a nurse reviews and acts on them
as necessary.
Yadkin
Valley Home Health offers skilled services, such as nursing, aides and rehabilitation.
These services must be ordered by
a physician. Services are delivered in the comfort and security
of your own home and are fully covered by Medicare and Medicaid, if you meet their
criteria.
Lifeline
is a personal response system. By simply wearing a necklace or bracelet that contains
a small button, you can call for
help instantly. Lifeline is an affordable safety system for anyone who lives
alone.
Yes.
Most major insurances cover skilled care and medical supplies. You can check with
your insurer or call us and we can
research it for you.
Traditional
Medicare, as well as the Medicare managed care programs like Advantage and Partners,
require that you be “homebound”. This means that in order to leave your
home to receive services (for example,
for outpatient physical therapy), it would be a taxing effort on you. Medicare
feels that in-home services are only appropriate for people who cannot easily receive
these same services in other settings
like outpatient clinics.
